Statement of Faith and Core Beliefs

We firmly beleive that we can overcome the barriers that are often put in place when Christians disagree on methodology or even in some doctrinal issues and that we can live in strong diverse community as long as we agree on these core elements of our faith.

  • We believe in one God creator of Heaven and earth, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe the Bible is divinely inspired and is the authoritative Word of God, useful for equipping the people of God for good works.

  • We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. We believe in his prophetic coming, his virgin birth, his sinless life, his death for all the sins of mankind, his resurrection his ascension to Heaven and his imminent return. We believe that Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.”

  • We believe in the indwelling, the empowerment and the working of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of witness, service and maturity in Christ. We believe that the power of the Holy Spirit is operative in the church today.

  • We believe that each of us is in need of salvation because of our sin. We believe that God pardons sinners by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ expressed by a desire to be united with Christ in baptism and to live a life of service and devotion to Him.
